Summer is off to a great start, so I thought it was the perfect time to share one of my favorite parties of all-time. I know I’m a little biased since it was my son’s first birthday, but I wish we could have a Marina & Bait Shop party every year to celebrate his birth!
First birthdays are not only for the children, but for adults too. When I was creating this party I knew I wanted something that everyone would enjoy.
I used red, white, blue, light blue, and yellow as the main colors all based off the traditional nautical flags. You’ll see a little orange in there too. I used lots of balloons. You can’t have a party without balloons! I chose red and white buffalo check gingham tablecloths so I could use them again. We had the food buffet inside and had a matching “Hook ‘n Cook” sign with fish nets draped on the wall behind it.
Our lunch menu consisted of: Catfish filets, BBQ, Mac n’ Cheese, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, and Chips.
I kept the dessert table very simple. We had Swedish fish, gummy worms, swirl suckers, my mom’s famous Mazola Oil cupcakes, and Jack’s smash cake
All the kids received a beach pail with a logo sticker to take home and all the adults got a custom koozie. The koozies were a big hit!
